Throughout all of the blog there is a certain reluctance with regards to creating new images, in reality I haven´t created any of the images, I´ve simply recycled and reconstructed them – a clear characteristic of hypermodernity. “I´m gonna be famous” is a photographic project in which I took images of singers, actresses, sportswomen and models. After this I personified myself as each one of these social figures, copying technical aspects as well as content. The majority of the photos were altered digitally in order to make myself look as close as possible to the “original” (in reality you can´t really say the original, as there´s no origin).

One of my intentions in this project is to prove the power of the digital image as being infinitely reproducible. The alteration and manipulation of this image has the power to create new realities and construct identity.

It´s a thorough examination of our collective social imaginary and the place where it crosses the individual´s subconscious, an analysis of these images that define us and how by consuming them we can redefine ourselves – through these same images. A “new” me, timeless, a copy of a copy, reinvented, not created.
